Notes from National FBLA


Chapter Kits Arriving NOW!


Kits were mailed to all schools with at least one active member last year. Anticipating potential staffing changes, they did not mail these to a specific individual, rather “FBLA” with your school address.


Only one pack will be sent per chapter, however, you can download additional copies here: Adviser Resources - FBLA (this link is for all divisions, but there are tabs with additional middle and high school specific resources). CHAMPION CHAPTER information can be found at this same link.


Competitive Event Guidelines


Competitive event guidelines and topics have been promised by September 1.


Rating sheets are undergoing a refresh to award points for students following directions labeled as “guidelines protocol” - it will be an all or nothing set of points. Many of the “competencies” are being replaced with Knowledge Areas and Objectives. You will be able to find some sample prep materials in Connect.


Adviser Alerts


Adviser Alerts resumed on a bi-weekly basis starting Wednesday, August 13. These emails are your go to resource for all updates from the national office.


National Related Questions


We were reminded that we operate with a very small national staff, many of which work remotely. They do have a phone number posted, but have encouraged the use of the following options for a faster response time:

  • Knowledge base – Zendesk (tons of articles with step-by-step instructions)

  • Help Desk – Tickets help track what types of questions are being asked and alert the national team to things where we may need more resources – yesterday I entered two and have same day responses for both.

  • membership@fbla.org as a contact for membership related questions


Additional Call Outs


  • To enter members, we are encouraged to not use the bulk update feature.

    • There is an option to provide students a registration link/QR code to enter their own information, taking that step off your plate.

  • A brand center is provided with all official logos and colors as well as several helpful assets with more being added all the time.

    • Our logo is only usable as a complete package with the letters “FBLA” attached.


For our advance planners...

  • NFLC will be hosted in Phoenix this year, registration will be $125 and opened on August 15. This will include lunch on Friday with other meals on your own.

  • NLC will be hosted in San Antonio, registration will remain $195 for members and $125 for advisers, chaperones, and guests. They are planning a fiesta block party and are looking into group discounts for area attractions like Sea World.
